Jane the Virgin Details

Jane the Virgin is a fun drama on The CW. It centers on a young woman who is a virgin... and who is also pregnant.

She gets artificially inseminated by accident and the series then launches from there. Should Jane keep the baby? If she does, what does it do to her relationship with Michael? What about the real parents? Will they want the baby or will Jane be caring for it? There are so many questions and Jane the Virgin dares to answer them all with grace and kindness.

There are big surprises ahead for Jane, including the reveal of her birth father, who until now she thought forever lost to her. Will finding her own father impact her decision about being inseminated?

The series was off to a great start with the premiere, bringing the best Monday ratings in three years!

The series stars Gina Gina Rodriguez as Jane, as well as Justin Baldoni as Rafael, the hotel owner and the biological father of Jane's unborn child.

Other cast members include Brett Dier as Michael, Jane's detective boyfriend; Andrea Navedo as Xiomara, Jane's mother; Yael Grobglas as Petra, Rafael's scheming wife; Ivonne Coll as Alba, Jane's grandmother; and Jaime Camil as Rogelio.

Jane the Virgin Quotes

You can't protect her from everything Xiomara. You've done a fantastic job raising a daughter with extraordinary DNA.

Rogelio

Jane: I could see the finish line, first with Michael, and then Rafael, and now it's just not even in sight, and I'm a mom. When I was ten years old making that promise, I didn't see this coming.
Xo: Yeah, makes sense. So, maybe it's time to reevaluate?
Jane: Yeah, maybe.
