Supernatural Season 14 Episode 20 Review: Moriah

Holy Hell. Wow.

What a finale!!

On Supernatural Season 14 Episode 20 all hell breaks loose -- again -- thanks to Chuck who made a surprise and unexpected visit to help Sam, Dean, and Cas come up with a plan to deal with Jack.

Trying to Find a Way - Supernatural Season 14 Episode 20

God is all-powerful, and right now, God is pissed.

He had a plan to get rid of Jack and even made a special gun to get rid of the problem.

But he also was playing games with Sam, Dean, and Cas which they soon figured out and weren't too happy about.

Chuck fully expected that Dean would be the one to shoot Jack and was eagerly anticipating the event, but much to his surprise Dean didn't pull the trigger.

Dean was prepared to die alongside Jack since that was one of the caveats of using the special gun, but Jack's acceptance of his fate threw Dean for a loop.

Jack knew he was a problem, but he couldn't do anything to change what he did and who he had become.

It was heartbreaking to see him fall to his knees in front of Dean, and it was incredibly intense waiting to see what Dean would do.

It could have gone either way, but Dean decided that Jack didn't deserve to die. Not yet, anyway.

There had to be another way.

Just a Talk - Supernatural Season 14 Episode 20

Chuck was furious and ordered Dean to finish the job. He even offered to bring Mary back if Dean killed Jack.

But it was no dice, and that's when things went to hell in a handbasket.

Not only did he kill Jack himself (which he probably could have done from the start), but he brought all the monsters back that Sam and Dean had faced throughout the years.

I thought the episode had ended when Sam turned the gun on Chuck, but, boy, was there more story to tell.

Ready to do the Deed - Supernatural Season 14 Episode 20

The gun didn't do anything to Chuck which makes me wonder if it would have worked on Jack at all or if it was all a stupid story for one of Chuck's books.

It's actually funny to think of Chuck playing games the way he was.

Maybe that's the way God is. Throwing stories at the wall to see what sticks and what doesn't and entertaining himself with whatever stories are played out.

Maybe that's why God never does anything to help right all the wrongs in the world because it's all one big television show for him and he wants to get entertained.

What else does he have to do with his time, right?

But, now, because Dean didn't play his little game, Sam, Dean, and Cas are in a whole lot of trouble.

A new apocalypse is coming, and all I know is that the final season of Supernatural is going to be the bomb.

Jack was pretty upset with Sam and Dean that they had lied to him which was why he decided to rid the world of all lies.

An Epic Battle - Supernatural

It was a lot of fun watching people tell the truth.

My favorite part was hearing about the president admitting to all of his supposed lies. It was a stupid liberal twist, but it was funny never the less.

But let's face it.

If we all didn't lie from time to time, the world would be in a constant state of chaos.

Monsters Away - Supernatural Season 14 Episode 20

None of us can handle the truth 24/7.

But it was understandable why Jack wanted all the lies to end.

Cas was getting on my nerves when his first reaction was to save Jack instead of killing him as Dean wanted.

He wouldn't shut up about it, and I was hoping Dean would've punched him in the face just for being a jerk about it.

But Cas is an angel, and he believed in Jack and believed that there was a way to help him.

He's never given up hope that Jack could be saved.

And I guess that's a good thing to have someone on your side when everything is going wrong.

Someone who believes in second chances and wants to give you the benefit of the doubt even when you don't deserve it.

Besides Jack showed he can control himself.

The Monsters Arrive - Supernatural Season 14 Episode 20

He was pretty upset about his grandmother and could've killed her straight away as he did with Mary, but he didn't.

It was a good sign.

Unfortunately, it didn't matter to Chuck, and he ended Jack's life in an instant.

Cas was devastated, and Sam and Dean took it hard as well.

Jack may be gone for now, but his story isn't over yet.

It was surprising to see Billie in the Empty waiting for him.

Jack is Sorry - Supernatural Season 14 Episode 20

She's obviously has plans for Jack and who knows what The Shadow has in store.

We know The Shadow will be coming for Cas at some point so I imagine that will figure into next season as well.

As much as it hurts to see Supernatural come to an end, it seems that the final season will be bringing it full force.

I'm looking forward to it.

One other thing I want to mention, I died when Chuck pulled out his guitar to play a tune. It was hilarious as hell. Not so much for the guys who didn't find it amusing at all, but it was funny to me.

Over to you!

What did you think of the season finale?

Were you surprised to see all the monsters return (Bloody Mary - my all-time favorite!)?

Were you surprised Dean didn't shoot Jack?

What do you think will happen next season?
