Supergirl Season 2 Episode 11 Review: The Martian Chronicles

at .  Updated at .

So, after everyone risked their lives on Supergirl Season 2 Episode 11 so that M'gann wouldn't have to go back to Mars, she's going back to Mars anyway.

Poor J'onn.

He and M'gann were finally starting to click, too. He deserves to be happy.

J'onn - Supergirl Season 2 Episode 11

She really could have saved everyone a whole lot of trouble by making her little speech before everyone nearly got blown up, but at least everyone got out of it more or less unscathed.

Will we ever see her again? It's always a possibility.

At least we got to see some badass J'onn!

I don't know about you guys, but I personally found the whole shapeshifting thing a little confusing. I've gone back and re-watched a couple of scenes, and I'm still a little lost.

The first attack on the DEO was Armek as M'gann, who fought off J'onn while Winn and Alex were there in the room. I'm assuming that had to be the real Winn and the second Martian was already Alex.

So then after he escaped he somehow became Winn and stashed away the real Winn? It seemed like they were implying that Winn wasn't the real Winn the entire time, but Armek couldn't have been both M'gann and Winn at the same time.

Are we supposed to believe that Armek overtook Winn and stashed him away somewhere in the second the power went out?

Also, since we clearly saw Armek shapeshift into M'gann, J'onn's whole fire test would not have worked on her. How would they have known if it was really her or not?

Kara: He told me he liked me the other day.
Alex: I am so shocked.
Kara: Was it that obvious?
Alex: Duh.

Could Kara have made that conversation with Mon-El any more awkward?

Foot-in-mouth disease was a big problem there. The fact that she was so flustered though was just more evidence that she really does have feelings for him.

But, alas, it appears we will be put through the will they/won't they for awhile longer.

If Kara likes him, she should just tell him now. It's just one lunch date, it doesn't mean anything yet.

Protecting M'gann - Supergirl Season 2 Episode 11

Gotta love the heart-to-hearts during a major crisis.

The building is about to blow up in a matter of minutes, but by all means, stop in the hallway to have a conversation before resuming your search for the guy who can save you all.

I mean, if there was no hope, sure, get it all off your chests and declare your love or whatever, but otherwise, focus on the task at hand guys.

Kara: So was Maggie mad you missed the concert?
Alex: Well, luckily I have a girlfriend that understands when deadly aliens besiege my place of work, that takes precedence.

Of course as soon as Maggie told Alex she would meet her at the concert, we knew she'd never make it.

Alex doesn't get a lot of free time from the DEO. It's not going to be easy for her to balance the little she has between Maggie and Kara.

She'll figure it out, but in the mean time, I like watching the struggle. The sisterly bonding moments are the best part of the series, even if one of those wasn't even technically Alex.

Alex really should have shown up with a bigger cake for Kara's Earth birthday. Or at least a lot more cupcakes, especially if she was intending on sharing.

Kara eats a lot. I was half expecting her to smack Alex's fork away.

We expected Alex to struggle figuring out how to have a life outside of the DEO and Kara. Her job and her sister have always been her focus, with no time for anyone or anything else.

What I didn't necessarily expect though, was Kara needing to adjust to not having Alex around 24/7.

Not even Kara expected it. She wants Alex to be happy with Maggie, but had no idea how much she was going to miss Alex being available to her at the drop of a hat.

She's going to have to start planning things a little bit more in advance now. Though, granted, you can't blame her for assuming Alex would be free on her birthday.

Martians Attack - Supergirl Season 2 Episode 11

It was fun watching Winn as the White Martian. I bet Jeremy Jordan had fun with that.

Alex is getting good use out of her new gun, but still no repeat visit from Joe the alien.

Lena finally returns on Supergirl Season 2 Episode 12!

She's going to be accused of helping to break her mother out of prison, but I am REALLY hoping she didn't do it. I mean, she's the one who put her there in the first place. I refuse to believe she's a bad guy.

It's been awhile since we've checked in with her, Lillian, or Cadmus, but you can always watch Supergirl online if you need a refresher.

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 11 Quotes

You know, I've been talking to some of the regulars, and apparently Earth males are only supposed to express their feelings about sports and occasionally monster trucks. Who knew?

Mon-El
