Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 8 Review: Blitzkrieg

at .  Updated at .

Wow, the Ghost Riders took quite a few people this go around.

On Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 8, basically everyone outside of the main pack, Liam, Noah, and Theo are gone. Yup, even Peter got taken again, but surprisingly he sacrificed himself for Malia. His fatherly instincts kicked in just in the nick of time.

We lost a lost of important and beloved characters to the Ghost Riders, and it was super anticlimactic. Aside from Liam and Hayden's goodbye, which went on a bit too long, everyone else was just gone in an instant, almost.

Finding Stiles - Teen Wolf

Now maybe nothing was a bit to do because we know that the people the Ghost Riders take are still alive, but it was still a little disappointing to see everyone go out the way they did.

At this rate, the pack better start bringing people back from the Ghost Rider train station fast, otherwise everyone but Lydia will be gone in two episodes.

Also, the final season is, if memory serves, 20 episodes long. It doesn't look like the Ghost Rider storyline has that much life left in it, so what's next after all of this? Please don't tell me it's fighting Mr. Douglas.

You know what was really boring? The Nazi flashbacks.

Sorry, Mr. Douglas, I really don't care that you have been obsessed with the wild hunt since your Nazi days. It's not interesting to me.

The flashbacks either needed to be trimmed down or cut out. Theo could have told us everything we needed to know. This is one instance where I wish we were told rather than shown.

Malia: You're the bad guy. I'm pretty sure helping you is a bad idea.
Mr. Douglas: Good guy, bad guy. When has everything ever been so black and white?

Mr. Douglas, as a character, is not all that exciting or compelling. It honestly would have been more interesting to have an origin of the Ghost Riders flashback or to spend time with someone, like Corey, in the train station.

Mr. Douglas is just a means to an end. Granted we don't exactly know what the end is yet, but somehow Mr. Douglas is important to the Ghost Rider storyline and the saving everyone storyline.

This is the final season. Let's focus on our core characters instead of wasting half an episode trying to figure out what Mr. Douglas did way back in his Nazi days.

Oh but wait! Mr. Douglas is also even more evil because he wants his own supernatural army. Shocker! Yawn.

I'm also not partial to Mr. Douglas because he's a constant reminder that we still know basically nothing about the stupid Dread Doctors. Did you enjoy the flashbacks?

Make no mistake, sheriff Noah Stilinski is the saving grace of this episode. Linden Ashby delivered a phenomenal emotional performance that brought me to tears multiple times.

I have a son. His name is Mieczyslaw Stilinski, but we call him Stiles. I remember. When Stiles was a little kid, he couldn't say his first name. I'm not sure why, it pretty much rolls off the tongue, but the closest he could was mischief. His mother called him that until...I remember when Stiles first got his jeep. It belonged to his mother. She wanted him to have it. The first time he took a spin behind the wheel, he went straight into a ditch. I gave him his first roll of duct tape that day. He was always getting into trouble, but he always had a good heart, always. We're here tonight because my goofball son because he decided to drag Scott, his greatest friend in the world, into the woods to see a dead body.

Noah

Now, on paper, having one character off on his own doing some soul searching and remembering a forgotten son could have been really boring, but it's not.

It's the heart of the episode, and it's one of the reasons why we all love Teen Wolf so much that we stick with it through some iffy storylines.

The only thing that still doesn't quite make sense to me is Claudia. No one else seemed to bring back some family member or friend as a way to cope with Stiles' absence.

Side note: this could have been an amazing way to bring back a beloved character that had died or even just left, and then this is how we find out that they've died. Oh my god, it could have been heartbreaking and perfect.

Like can you imagine if Jackson was back, and then Lydia and Jackson are back together, but there's something that makes Lydia feel like something's not right with everything.

Then, after being adorable with Jackson one day at school, Lydia would remember Stiles saying "I love you."

Anyway, back to Claudia. It's doubtful that we will ever get answers as to how exactly Claudia returned, but it was a nice thought.

It's too bad that she came off super shady for the majority of the time she was there. I'll never be over her freak out over Lydia peeling back one tiny corner of wallpaper.

What did you think of the episode? Did Noah bring you to tears? What do you think of Stiles' name? Leave your thoughts in a comment below.

Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 8 Quotes

Scott, I'll admit that you have a flare for beating the odds, but this you don't walk away from, you run.

Peter

Lydia: You're going to bite Stiles.
Scott: To get him through the rift, it's the only way.
Peter: Just to clarify, are you going to bite everyone in the train station.
Scott: With Stiles back, he'll be able to help us figure out a plan.
Malia: He's good at that.
Peter: So the plan is to get Stiles to come up with a plan.
Malia: You can shut up now.
