It's becoming increasingly apparent that Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 is the worst of the series. 

After numerous teases, we finally spent some time with someone linked to the mysterious organization on Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 5, and it was a mess. 

Althea has been MIA since Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 1, so it was about time we found out what went down while the others looked for her. 

She has never been my favorite character, but I respect that she wants stories to be told long after she dies, and her knack for journalism is giving her something to do in this post-apocalyptic world. 

We really never learned anything concrete about the organization aside from that they're apparently making things better for everyone. 

It's difficult to understand what that means, especially when Isabelle is telling Althea it's a place she should not want to go to. 

The lack of answers is problematic.

This storyline feels like a set-up for the upcoming Rick Grimes trilogy of The Walking Dead movies and feels well and truly out of place on the spin-off. 

We know these people took Rick, and there have been subtle hints about them peppered through the show of late.

But for people who don't watch the parent series, there's a complete and utter lack of context to the storyline. 

By now, we should have answers about these people. Instead, all we have is a woman who was about to murder Al to keep the company a secret.

It's laughable.

The helicopter is a dead giveaway, so if they want things to be kept in secret, then maybe they shouldn't have the three circles marked on all of their vehicles. 

It's a bitter pill to swallow that Al cared more about a woman who tried to kill her on several occasions than telling her friends the truth. 

Amirite?

The kiss between Al and Isabelle didn't feel warranted.

There was no connection between the characters, not one semblance of a spark. 

I'm all for a good romance plot, but there was something about this particular plot that didn't work.

There's a fine line between love and hate, but there was nothing there. 

It certainly seems like that's the last we'll see of this company on Fear the Walking Dead, and it's difficult not to let out a huge sigh just thinking about the possibilities here.

Fear the Walking Dead should not be used as a storyline farm to set up a movie.

There has to be payoff on the show the storyline is on for it to feel worthwhile. 

It's unclear whether Al thinks she's somehow going to bump into Isabelle again or if she doesn't want to give Alicia and Morgan false hope by telling them about the story. 

It would be music to their ears if they heard that people were working on making things better.

All they've been striving for of late is making things better. 

That's sort of why they're stranded in this radiation-heavy environment with no way out. 

Now that they have the kids fighting alongside them, they should be able to start the process of making a move.

There's no real villain this season, and that's another concern. 

The storylines and characters are just chugging along, and it feels like they have very little purpose in the grand scheme of things. 

Morgan and Alicia have both become very one-dimensional with their plight to do better, and help people.

Sometimes, you need to take some time for yourself. 

That's something they will never do. 

We need to have the characters together for more than a few episodes.

Disappearances are used regularly as a plot device, and the characters are bordering on unlikeable.

The first half of Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 gave the series a jolt in the right direction, but the wheels are falling off again, and the creative forces are already hard at work on a third series. 

Diluting franchises is the norm these days. 

We need closure for storylines before more are thrown into the mix.

Whatever happened to Grace?

She was a great addition, and with Karen David getting billed as a regular, she should have been in more episodes by now. 

I wouldn't oppose to a permanent merge with The Walking Dead at this stage.

It's something that's been on my mind for a while, and something that will probably happen down the line. 

It's inevitable that this show will not outlive the parent series, especially with the steadily declining ratings.
