While the squad rushes to find the hacker before it's too late, Rosa has only minutes to help her friends and convince Jocelyn to give their relationship another chance.

Facepalm - Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6 Episode 14

Rosa has undergone a lot of development throughout the series, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6 Episode 14 exemplifies just how far she's come since the show began.

Rosa, come on. You can't break a mouse in half. Oh wow, you did. Scary. You really earned your rep.

Jake

For her entire life, Rosa has purposely avoided discussing her feelings or showing any emotion in public.

She may put up a hard front, but it's obvious how much she cares about her friends and co-workers.

When it came to Jocelyn, Rosa tried to mask her heartbreak and embarrassment with spite.

She was hesitant to let Jake know how much she cared about her girlfriend and tried to play it off as something that made her angry rather than sad.

Jake may appear a lot more upbeat than Rosa, but the two are more similar than meets the eye.

While Rosa tries to hide her true feelings with anger, Jake uses humor as his defense mechanism.

The fact that they both share the same struggle is one of the reasons why they're such good friends. Even if they don't quite realize it, they can understand each other on an incredibly deep level.

Rosa and Jake - Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6 Episode 14

Jake has always been the person Rosa confides in, and Jake is there for her no matter the situation.

When Rosa came out as bisexual, Jake supported her unconditionally and was even there when Rosa told her parents who she really was.

In all honesty, Jake and Rosa's relationship on the series is extremely underrated and deserves to be made a bigger deal.

As Rosa has said before, Jake is her closest friend, and the two rely heavily on each other.

Therefore, it wasn't surprising that it was Jake who she opened up to about her true feelings.

I'm not gonna destroy her. I actually want her back. I really love her, Jake.

Rosa

It was clear to viewers that Rosa cared about Jocelyn deeply despite how much she tried to play it off.

We haven't seen Rosa in a real relationship since Adrian, so we were hoping that she and Jocelyn would last.

The two have amazing chemistry, and we already love Jocelyn despite the short amount of time we've known her.

It's for this reason that Jocelyn wanting to end their relationship was so disheartening.

I should've done this last night, but I chickened out. We need to break up.

Jocelyn

However, it's hard to deny that both Rosa and Jocelyn made good points.

Rosa's job is important to her, and when you're in such an intense line of work, your life does, essentially, revolve around it.

But that isn't fair to Jocelyn and she deserves better than someone who can only give her half of their attention.

Balancing your personal life and your career is never an easy thing, but it is something that needs to get done to prosper in all areas of your life.

Rosa quitting near the end of the case to chase after Jocelyn was an excellent way to prove to her girlfriend just how much she means to her.

Now that they've reconciled, we have hope that Brooklyn Nine-Nine will let them stay together in the long run.

Experiencing Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6 Episode 14 in real time brought a new level of uniqueness to the series.

Not the Garlic Bread - Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6 Episode 14

Viewers were watching the clock along with the squad, and it served as a way to increase the audience's involvement in the episode's events.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine has taught us to expect the unexpected, so just as Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6 Episode 13, it was easy to see the betrayal coming.

What if the reason we can't find the hacker, is that there is no hacker?

Jake

But whether you guessed the perpetrator or not, it didn't take anything away from the overall story.

No one could have expected Holt to be walking out of his office with Sergeant Knox holding him at gunpoint.

Betrayal - Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6 Episode 14

What could have been a catastrophe resulted in an extraordinary scene, in which the squad managed to save Holt and restrain Knox all in the same instance.

It was the perfect conclusion to another incredibly well-crafted episode.

Stray Thoughts:

  • Amy's role in the episode suited her perfectly. It's just like Sergaent Santiago to flee her dentist appointment just so she wouldn't miss out on anything important at work.
  • Can we talk about the fact that Jake Peralta watches Killing Eve? Just when we thought it wasn't possible to love him more than we already do.

  • Hitchcock and Scully found themselves in a time crunch as well. Their mission to retrieve garlic bread before their lasagna got done in the microwave, somehow felt drier than the actual case.
  • Can someone send Jake Peralta flowers? He both wants and deserves them.
