Things definitely got intense on The Good Place Season 3 Episode 9

It feels like everything is finally coming together and reaching a boiling point. With only a few episodes left in the season, The Good Place kicked itself into high gear.

With the demons back in play and our characters running for their lives, it seems like just about anything is possible.

In Loving Memory - The Good Place Season 3 Episode 9

Michael's plan to find Doug Forcett and make him a blueprint for others, while interesting, was also flawed. There were a lot of aspects that didn't add up and some others that didn't quite make sense.

For instance, Doug knew about The Good Place. While no one told him about it and he came about the knowledge through a hallucination, aren't his motives now corrupt just like the rest of the gangs?

While Doug isn't exactly a bad person, it seems like he doesn't care about the people around him. He's more concerned with how many points he'll gain or lose if he doesn't do the right thing.

Meet Doug - The Good Place Season 3 Episode 9

Throwing a funeral for a snail seems a little extreme, but Doug's fear of losing afterlife points leads him to do some crazy things.

Martin was a lot of things. A snail mostly, but also a friend. Martin taught us about life, about love, and about the limits of scotch tape.

Michael

Janet even referred to Doug as a happiness pump, someone who essentially drains themselves dry for the sake of others. Upon this realization, it becomes evident that Doug Forcett is not the answer to all of their problems.

Meanwhile, Eleanor goes to Tahani and comes clean about her past with Chidi.

When is the right time to tell someone you were passionate lovers in an alternate timeline in the afterlife but he doesn't remember because technically none of that happened in this strand of the multi-verse.

Eleanor

Surprisingly, Tahani offers Eleanor some great advice. She even realizes that the reason Eleanor is so fixed on the situation is that Eleanor's in love with Chidi again.

The relationship between Tahani and Eleanor has always been one of the best parts of the show. No matter how they start, they always end up being close friends. Tahani referring to herself as Eleanor's best friend was extremely satisfying.

The two may be different, but they always find solace in each other.

Honestly, if The Good Place ever wanted to explore anything more between Tahani and Eleanor, I'd be completely on board. There's always been flirtation on Eleanor's end, and there's no denying that they have insane chemistry.

You made a really hot centaur.

But at Tahani's persuasion, Eleanor sums up the courage to tell Chidi how she feels. The best part is that just like almost every reboot we've seen; it looks like Eleanor is falling first.

There's something inexplicably satisfying about the way that someone as closed off and sarcastic as Eleanor falls head over heels for someone like Chidi time and time again.

They're such a fascinating and unique pair that it's impossible not to root for them.

Fess Up - The Good Place Season 3 Episode 9

When Eleanor confessed her feelings to Chidi, he never had time to take it all in or give her a reply.

Being captured and confronted by Shawn and the rest of the demons felt like a long time coming. Ever since last season, we've been waiting for the Bad Place to catch up to them and it looks like it finally has.

The fight sequence however definitely wasn't the best scene of the show. While it was meant to be comical, some parts of it seemed a little bit weird and cheesy.

However, that might have been the angle they were going for, and there's no denying that watching Janet kick some demon butt was badass. And Eleanor, to Chidi's amazement, picked up on how hot Janet looked too.

How are you this close to being dragged to hell and still horny?

Chidi

Although it may sound odd, it was actually disappointing that the gang didn't get dragged back to the afterlife. As important as their well-being is, it's time for a change of scenery.

When they find themselves once again surrounded by demons with no place to go, Janet suggests that they all hide in her void. However, it may very well kill them.

Sharing a Secret - The Good Place

Since they're left with no other choice, they all take Janet's hand and go. And honestly, I couldn't be happier.

Are we going to see the inside of Janet's void? Although a void generally consists of nothing, the gang's got to be somewhere and hopefully, we get to see where that is.

With the demons hot on their trail and Eleanor's love for Chidi finally out in the open, it seems like next week's episode has the opportunity to be explosive.
