Revenge Season 4 Episode 22 Review: Plea

at .  Updated at .

Look, y'all. The record is doing all kinds of reflecting right now, okay? I said it last week and tonight Revenge Season 4 Episode 22 confirmed my suspicions (and then some):

Victoria Grayson is ALIVE.

Just how well she is remains to be seen, but Queen V is certainly breathing. And Margaux has known all about it this entire time.

I knew there was no way Victoria was dead in part because of the way Scandal treated Jake Ballard's "death" what with actor Scott Foley sending out cryptic tweets which could be interpreted in myriad ways.

Madeleine Stowe's interviews this week were no different. In them the actress stated that Victoria Grayson is very much dead. The loophole? Victoria Grayson switched lives with Mary Gaines. She'll no longer be known as Victoria Grayson, but that which we called a rose by any other name would still smell as...well, deadly, amiright?

So she's "dead" but not dead-dead.

Still, we all have to give it to Victoria for the absolute detail she took in planning her own death, right down to, apparently, leaving her own teeth behind to be identified by the EMTs and the coroner. It's all totally crazy but at the same time, totally, completely Victoria.

I can't say I saw Margaux being in on the ruse as part of the game, but hey, I'll take it. It's not that she's not capable of something like this but as smart as she is, this never would've been her idea. She never would've pulled this off by herself.

Look how quickly she cracked under Emily's pressure!?!

Margaux gave up the information quite quickly and then just decided to have someone killed to protect their secret, instantly making Margaux worse than Emily in this game because Emily has never killed anyone and this is a heap of bodies dying in Margaux's hands.

RIP Ben! You were pretty hot with Emily. You were alright in the end, I guess, since Louise delivered that smoking hoodie, but too bad, so sad. It was too little too late and Margaux's assassin got you. If she's as good as Huckleberry Quinn we'll never see you again, which will inevitably launch a whole new investigation. One wherein Jack decides to return to the police force to avenge his buddy's death and he and Amanda live happily ever after.

Okay, maybe that won't be how it happens, but with only one episode left, I'm sensing a Jemily moment coming somewhere during the final five minutes of Revenge Season 4 Episode 23. They would've had their moment tonight but Nolan had to go and interrupt.

I loved that we got Emotional Emanda tonight in the scenes between Amanda and David. She does love her father and it finally seems like everything she did, she did for him and not for herself. She's more emotional around him than she is around anyone else. More vulnerable. It's such a break from her typical calm, cool, and collected exterior.

Now that we know David Clarke is definitely dying from his lymphoma, or will probably die unless the research wing Nolan and Emily will fund is able to help him. And let's be real. It won't help him.

Emily's sacrifice for all she's done will be that she'll have to live without her father. She doesn't get to win it all in the end.

Jack, David, and Nolan will reveal the frame job for Victoria's murder and she'll be released, all charges dropped, and then David Clarke will actually die, surrounded by those who love him and not alone in a courtyard during a prison riot as so many believed for so long. There's not really any other way it could go.

We'll find out next week during the Revenge series finale.

[to Louise] I don't know which Victoria Grayson you met but mine was the most manipulative human I've ever known.

Charlotte

Jack: The other night I heard that you came to the airport to tell me not to leave and I just have to know...is that true?
