Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 12 involves an investigation that hits close to home. Maura and the rest of the team work around the clock to try to find out who has been targeting Jane and why, and to protect her from the next attack. But Jane won't sit idly back and let them do the heavy lifting. She wants to be part of the investigation.

A young woman dies from a cocaine overdose and it turns out she was a cocaine mule whose balloons were punctured on purpose. One of the balloons has Jane's watch in it, set to 5:26. The team thinks this is a warning that something will happen to Jane at 5:26 the next evening.

Maura hires a bodyguard for Jane and Vince tells her she should be glad she's not in protective custody. Jane is irritated but is glad that at least she and Frankie can't share space while the investigation is in progress. She and the bodyguard get along all right, but Angela privately warns him that he will answer to her if Jane gets hurt.
