Law & Order: SVU Season 20 focuses on the investigation into a teenage boy, Sam, who appears to have been raped. Sam is first seen on a hunting trip, where he doesn't want to shoot a rabbit. Later, SVU is called to his high school, where he has been bleeding anally and has bruises. Sam insists he fell and won't talk to the cops, and his dad shows up and won't let him talk.

The cops' investigation leads them to suspect that Sam's brother Brian raped him, but when Benson and Rollins talk to the mother she says the father did it. The father denies everything and so does Sam.

Meanwhile, Stone, Benson, and Rollins all are struggling with personal problems.

Rollins' boyfriend promises he won't cheat on her with hookers anymore, but she sees him flirting with a waitress, and later on she confesses to Benson she's pregnant again.

Benson has trouble running after suspects and feels guilty because her inability to chase Brian during a confrontation causes a woman to fall off her bike and break her leg.

And Stone seems to be drinking and engaging in questionable sexual activity of his own because of his inability to deal with Pam's death.
