After ark hunter Nolan and Irisa are robbed by raiders and left for dead in the wild, they are rescued and brought into the settlement of Defiance. In Defiance Nolan and Irisa meet Amanda the recent elected Mayor along with the families of Tar and McCawley, who are the two most powerful families and at war with each other.
