Park: We have to tell a budding chef she'll never eat again.
Shaun: How will she react?
Andrews: We don't know.
Shaun [to Park]: You should tell her.
Andrews: It's your case.
Shaun: I am bad at patient communication. If she takes it badly she might not want me to do the surgery.
Andrews: Then you should give the case over to Park.
Shaun: I do not want to do that. I want to do the surgery.
Lim: Dr. Park will tell Beth. Shaun will still do the surgery.
Andrews: Shaun was very lucky. He got the world's most genial patient.
Lim: Nice.
Andrews: Of you. I saw the chart. This was supposed to be Park's patient. You can't coddle him.
Lim: If we challenge him too much we'll lose him.
You look awfully young. I always say that the younger you are, the smarter you must be.
Patient
Claire: Thank you for your help with the sea lions. But I'd like to keep my mother's death between us. I'm not ready to deal with people's platitudes.
Morgan: That suggests you're not okay with it. That's a textbook case of denial.
Claire: Denial is the first step of the grieving process but thank you for the platitudes.
