NBC has already confirmed that One Chicago will remain intact next season, but that does not mean all of the cast members will be back for each show.
Per Deadline, Jon Seda is bowing out of Chicago P.D. later this season, while Colin Donnell and Norma Kuhling are bowing out of Chicago Med as series regulars.
There's no telling how either actor will be written out, but it is somewhat concerning how late these decisions have come out.
Seda plays Detective Antonio Dawson. He first appeared on Chicago Fire before joining Chicago P.D. when the series debuted. He departed a few seasons later, joining the cast of Chicago Justice.
That show did not take off as well as NBC hoped, and Seda returned to Chicago P.D. as a series regular. However, he is now bowing out of the series and probably the franchise, for good.
Seda's exit is said to be for "creative reasons" according to Deadline, but there are no details on why Donnell and Kuhling are saying goodbye to Chicago Med.
Donnell took to Instagram to confirm his departure but didn't shed any light on why he's exiting the popular medical drama series.
"Sorry to say that this is true," he shared via Twitter.
"I love my #ChicagoMed #OneChicago family dearly. And a special thank you to all the fans that have made these last four seasons so amazing."
He continued, "It’s been an honor to be a part of such a great trio of shows and in the @WolfEnt family."
"I know that there’s great things coming for Season 5 and I can’t wait to see what they are along with all you fans."
The news comes just hours after it was revealed that Chicago Fire original stars Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney had inked new deals to continue with the series that started the franchise.
