The Whisperers may have already claimed their first victim, but we're beginning to think all of our heroes are in danger.

AMC on Wednesday dropped new key art for the second half of The Walking Dead Season 9, and it gives us our biggest look yet at the leader of the new villains.

Alpha is the new person who will be trying to make our beloved survivors drop like flies, and if her zombie get-up alone is to be believed, she's going to be a deadly new addition.

Have a look below.

Samantha Morton as Alpha - The Walking Dead

The second half of The Walking Dead Season 9 “finds our groups of survivors… in undeniable danger," according to AMC.

"They will soon realize the world just beyond does not operate as they thought… A whole new threat has crossed their paths, and they soon discover it’s unlike any threat they have encountered or endured before.”

Samantha Morton (Harlots) was recently cast in the series in the role of Alpha, and we must say, the make-up and costumes are pretty darn awesome for her character.

The Walking Dead closed out its fall run with The Whisperers claiming their first victim. That victim was none other than Jesus.

It presented another big blow to the fans who have long complained about the series deviating from the comic books.

It's unclear whether the deviations will continue to pile up or if the show will become a more faithful adaptation of its source material.

What we do know is that Rick Grimes has left the building. Andrew Lincoln's alter ego left the series after everyone assumed he died blowing up a bridge to save everyone from a herd of zombies.

However, viewers know that Jadis (Pollyanna Mcintosh) took him away on a helicopter, presumably to safety.

While the TV show may never see Rick Grimes again, the character will live on thanks to a trilogy of movies AMC has ordered.
