In the early 60s, the space missions made astronauts America's heroes and their wives became their first ladies, whether they were willing participants or not.
The Astronaut Wives Club is the story of these women and the struggles they faced as their lives were suddenly thrust into the spotlight, in some cases turned upside down, when all they every signed on for was to be a loving, supporting wife for their ambitious husbands.
In other cases, the wives of astronauts wished they, too, were traversing the skies above earth and in that they found their own issues to face.
But one thing remained, that this courageous group of women was forced to stand together under tremendous pressure and through it all, they became friends. The Astronaut Wives Club is their story. It begins on Thursday, June 18 at 8/7c on ABC. Tune in!
