Stefan and Caroline really being a couple. Like, no more drama. No more back and forth. No more drawing this couple out. We want to see them as a romantic team, not just for the hot sex, but also because the series now needs a new power couple for fans to cheer for. (RIP, Delena.)

Bonnie needs to get a storyline that is all her own, not predicated upon any other character. No more being at the whim of a Salvatore or a Gilbert or even a love interest. Perhaps the story of her mother as a witch/vampire could be revisited. We finally know she's not going anywhere, so it's time for Bonnie to be given the respect she deserves and to put down some roots. Maybe Abby going toe to toe with Lily. Mama v Mama, people!

The Vampire Diaries has been hit (Klaus, Kai) and miss (Marco) with its villains. But there's real potential with the Heretics. Julie Plec compared the group to The Originals (high praise!) in terms of how she plans to carve out their backstories and personalities. Let's hope they become well-rounded, worthy adversaries for our heroes and heroines.

Michael Malarky was made a series regular for Season 6... and then seemed to appear in fewer scenes than he did on Season 5. And what the heck was up with that Sarah Salvatore storyline?!? There's reason to hope, however, due to Enzo's connection to Lily and the Heretics. Has he finally found a family?
