Major Crimes Season 5 Episode 17 revolves around the murder of a heavyset man who is found dead in a tree. There is a lot of pot around him so it is presumed he was a drug dealer. Just as the investigation starts, Morales shows up with his father and insists Major Crimes go along with pretending he is in charge of the investigation.

The unit soon has a bigger problem, as Winnie Davis keeps showing up and objecting that they want special privileges, don't care about the budget, etc. Sharon does her best to handle her while still investigating the case. As usual, she finds a bunch of quirky suspects as soon the unit scratches the surface of the dead man's life. The search eventually leads to two less-than-intelligent pilots, but which one killed Felix?
