Recap

On the final episode before Hollywood week, American Idol showcased a slew of performers. We've tried to narrow them down to those with the best shot of advancing far on the show...

Jessica Furney: a 20- year old from Warmego, Kansas. Sung “Footprints in the Sand." We thought she did a better job last season when she tried out, but the singer has spruced up her look and it's apparently enough: off to Hollywood.

Quick montages highlight Lee Dewyze (23 , from Mount Prospect, Illinois) an Crystal Bowersox (23, Elliston, Ohio). We mention them because each is rumored to advance to the final 24.

Michael Lynche : a 26-year old from Astoria, New York. Sang “Unchained Melody” by the Rightous Brothers – Why will he be the next American Idol? Because he’s got big muscles and a baby on the way. Kara and Kristin Chenoweth both giggle during his performance, while the former calls him a "singing teddy bear." He gets a golden ticket.

Didi Benami: a 22-year old from Hollywood, California. Sung “Hey Jude” by the Beatles. Auditioning in memory of her best friend Rebecca, who died away four years ago, she has a big voice. When asked if she wants this badly, Didi breaks down. Heart-breaking, and talent-laden, stuff.

Aaron Kelly: a 16-year old from Sonestown, Pennsylvania. A shy singer, he goes with “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus. Says his parents were poor. He was adopted by his aunt and uncle when he was a toddler. He seems like a happy, inspiration, sweet kid that could appeal to many younger fans.
