The Cool Kids will end its first and only season tonight.

Series star, Vicki Lawrence has revealed that the Fox comedy series has been canceled.

"One last new episode of Cool Kids tonight. End of season 1, end of @thecoolkidsfox 😟, she said via Instagram.

"We have been cancelled. I’ve had a good #cry I’ll probably have another. I will miss #myboys."

Coming from Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), The Cool Kids focused on three male friends who consider themselves the top dogs in their retirement community.

Their status is challenged by the newest community resident, a rebellious woman who might be the coolest “kid” of all.

The show has been a decent performer for FOX, averaging 4.2 million total viewers and a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49.

The Cool Kids - Likely Renewal

With FOX becoming an independent broadcast network, the fate of most series was uncertain as a result of new deals having to be worked out.

Additionally, the network is giving up Thursdays from the fall to wrestling, so there was a huge question mark hanging over the future of all its remaining series.

The Cool Kids joins The Gifted and Rel as the shows canceled at the network so far.

9-1-1, Empire, The Simpsons, Last Man Standing, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy, and The Resident have all been renewed.

On The Defensive - Proven Innocent Season 1 Episode 12

The jury is still out on Proven Innocent, Lethal Weapon, Star, The Passage, and The Orville. Star has a chance based on its compatibility with Empire, while Lethal Weapon, and Proven Innocent are not expected to continue.
