Days of Our Lives Round Table: Who Do You Feel Sorry For in Salem?

Steve told Tripp that he’d killed his mother, Chad got his revenge against Deimos, and Adrienne finally made her choice this week in Salem.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Fossie and Tinab from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate if Adrienne made the right choice, if Brady is being ridiculous, and who is the most sympathetic person on Days of Our Lives.

Is Brady being ridiculous for expecting an instant family with Nicole?

Jack: I think Brady is being completely ridiculous. He's not even considering Nicole's opinion or feelings. He's decided this is what he wants, and therefore, she needs to go along with it.

It would be nice if they talked about it and decided together, like adults, but that's asking too much of Brady, I guess.

Christine: I can’t agree with Jack enough. Brady is annoyingly ridiculous. Brady just shows up and announces he loves Nicole so they’re going to be together and raise their kids together. Nicole’s feelings or opinion really didn’t seem to matter.

Fossie: Brady always falls head over heels and doesn’t think before he leaps. You’d think that after all of his failed romances he’d think things through a little more, but that’s not Brady.

Tinab: Brady is reaching to say the least! This situation isn't exactly nurturing to a romantic relationship.

Was Chad wrong to have Deimos beaten up?

Jack: Yes, yes, yes. The gratuitous violence turned my stomach.

JJ was right that Chad should let the cops help and Abigail was right that Deimos is going to retaliate and this will never end.

I can't believe Chad was stupid enough to trust Deimos' promise to never act violently again.

Christine: Yeah, it was pretty dumb. I understand wanting to beat up Deimos, but how is this doing anything but making things worse? This war won’t end unless someone ends up dead or in prison, and maybe not even then.

Fossie: Deimos won’t be stopped. He has no morals so other than for petty revenge, what was the point of beating him up? It won’t change anything, and will only fuel his need for vengeance.

Tinab: I was ok with chad beating Deimos. It was out of character but kind of nice to see him embrace being his father's son.

Did Adrienne make the right choice?

Jack: I think so. Justin not only cheated on her but is so arrogant 90% of the time that I can't stand him anymore.

I never used to like Adrienne and Lucas but they've grown on me. However, Lucas needs to be less gloat-y and more sensitive or I may change my mind.

Christine: Adrienne made the right choice. Justin cheated on her for years and didn’t decide she was worth fighting for until she fell in love with Lucas.

It’s time to move on and Lucas adores her. She’d be a fool to drop him to go back to Justin.

Fossie: Justin has been so supportive since Adrienne got sick that I almost would have been okay if she decided to go back to him, but I still believe that Lucas is the right choice.

Tinab: I would have made the same choice. Lucas has never been anything but gentle and kind, and that is exactly what Adrienne needs now.

For which character in Salem do you currently have the most sympathy?

Jack: I feel sympathy for JJ, since he gets virtually no story and when he does get a story he's treated as the bad guy when he's 10,000 times better than all the people judging him.

I also feel bad for Maggie, that Victor put her in the middle of his conflict with Eric, and that she has to put up with Deimos being part of Victor's life and in their house.

Christine: The kids, especially Tate, Parker, and Holly, because the adults in their lives tend to act like idiots.

Theo, because Claire and Ciara are both insufferable.

Tripp, because the poor guy just got sucked into Joey’s orbit and I fear his acting talent will slowly seep away just because of the proximity.

Fossie: Paul! The character is interesting and the actor is great but he’s completely on the back burner. Even his chemistry with Sonny seems to have evaporated.

Tinab: I am actually sympathetic to Jade. She is all alone and desperate for attention even though she is going about it the wrong way.

And of course Anne! She deserves some happiness too.

How long do you think it will be before Tripp finds out that Joey killed Ava?

Jack: I’m sure it won't be long, since everyone keeps announcing that it would be terrible if it happened and he's living with Joey.

Christine: Oh, I think they’re going to drag this out for a while. They’ll have Tripp get close to Joey before they pull the rug out from under him.

Fossie: With Jade bringing it up every five minutes, not long. I wouldn’t be surprised if she got angry with Joey and started having feelings for Tripp, and then decides she just has to tell him the truth.

Tinab: We all know it's inevitable! I just hope it's not drug on too long.

Did anything disappoint you this week in Salem?

Jack: Chad's unnecessary violence and the Tripp story taking the stupid turn of Steve telling Tripp he killed Ava are on the top of my list.

I also really wish Eric hadn't allowed Victor to derail his date.

And we don't need another resurgence of Nicole being vilified for being a porn star when she was forced into porn by her abusive father.

Christine: Hailey over-sharing about Scooter’s porn habit! Seriously, who makes a new friend and mentions that their husband secretly watches a lot of porn? It was so bad that it was laughable.

Fossie: That Steve didn’t tell Tripp right away that Ava was dead, allowing him to get his hopes up about meeting his mother, and then he told Tripp he killed her. It was the first time since Tripp showed up that I really hated this story.

Tinab: It was a good week all in all, but I don't like how Nicole is appearing unable to think for herself.

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline on this week’s Days of Our Lives?

Jack: I loved JJ telling Chad he wasn't going to put his relationship with his sister above the law. Finally a cop who gets what his job is supposed to be about.

I also liked Victor pointing out how stupid Brady was acting.
