Matt Donovan LIVES! As a human! Not that there was any doubt, but as The Vampire Diaries Season 8 brings this series to a close, we often find ourselves shocked that Donovan has managed to stay alive for so long.
And no one is more surprised than Zach Roerig, the actor who brings Matt Donovan to life.
What can we expect from Matt when The Vampire Diaries Season 8 returns? For starters, he's given up on love. At least the romantic kind.
That ship sailed when Matt learned that he'd killed his fiance', had his mind wiped by Stefan, and set out on a vendetta which would eventually put his friends in danger. Maybe love's just not worth it for Donovan.
Roerig teases that Matt will have a new mission when the series premieres and reflects on his past eight seasons as Mystic Falls' resident human.
