Just as the spell is finished, Klaus daggers himself, which causes both he and Dahlia to die and Freya to awaken. Rebekah wakes up in her old body and she and Elijah learn what Klaus has done. Elijah whooshes away to rescue Hope from Freya and to bring both Dahlia and Klaus' body back to the compound. Cami has given them the final ingredient in the spell which will kill her but they will need Davina's help to make the spell work. Davina isn't interested in providing said help because doing so means losing Kol forever. The covens have given her once chance to combine their magic in order to perform a resurrection spell and Davina has no plans to use it for Klaus' benefit, even if the life of an innocent baby hangs in the balance. Rebekah serves as a distraction and Elijah switches the ashes. Davina resurrects Esther instead of Kol, which renews Davina's hatred of the Mikaelsons and secures her as their next villain to overcome.
