When you watch The Goldbergs Season 2 Episode 4 you will find yourself immersed in 80's music and fashion. Beverly learns that Erica has been "cheating" on her with another cool mom named Louise. Bev tries to take the cool crown away from Louise by dressing up as Madonna and dancing to her music. It of course does not work but Murray forces Erica to go out with her mom and try to pretend that she is cool. Erica agrees to attempt it but has her friends come to the restaurant that they are at to try to get her out of the lunch; Bev figures this out and bails on Erica. Beverly goes to the bar to talk to Pop's and get his advice on trying to be cool. They end up drinking together and Bev shows up at the house drunk and Erica is forced to take care of her mom. Through this, Erica realizes that her mom loves her and that while she may never be considered the "cool mom" she loves her no matter what. Meanwhile, Adam tries to join Barry's group of friends. When they let him join, he realizes that Barry's friends are just a bunch of idiots and when he tells them this, they kick Barry and Adam out of the group.
