In 2007, the CW's One Tree Hill famously leaped ahead four years at the start of Season Five, allowing its cast members to play their characters on a more age-appropriate level, and fans responded by falling even more in love with them over the past two seasons.

Now, according to EW, the show is mulling another time jump at the onset of Season 7 this fall. But this one's not nearly as drastic; a One Tree Hill insider source says the action would likely resume just one year after the season finale we just watched.

Nothing is set in stone, but this could enable One Tree Hill to recalibrate itself after the surprise departure of two of its original cast members, Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton (below), while integrating newcomers (Brian Austin Green) into the fold.
