Jacob Richter a client of Alicia’s is held in a secret detention site. When Alicia tracks him there using his phone, they claim he’s not there and escort Alicia out. She has to trick a police officer into admitting Jacob is being held there in order for a judge to say they must allow his lawyer in but when Alicia shows up, the officer in charge claims Jacob is seeing a different lawyer. Alicia and Finn go back to court and manage to prove via police radio codes that Jacob was considered under arrest yet was never mirandized and therefore his supposed confession is inadmissible.
Finn agrees to partner with Alicia. She’s thrilled. He later tells her he’s seeing his ex-wife and they’re giving their relationship a second chance but when the chemistry between he and Alicia resurfaces, Finn decides they can’t work together and backs out.
Peter’s been asked to run for President by the Illinois Democratic Committee. He’s running in the hopes of ending up as Vice President. He says he wants the family’s blessing. Zack is thrilled. Grace wants to know if her parents will still have to pretend to be married. Alicia tells him she doesn’t want him to run.
Alicia realizes that Eli is pulling the strings behind her ghost writer in order to make her over to be First Lady. She cancels the project.
Charles Lester is searching for Kalinda and ends up on Alicia’s doorstep. Alicia tells him she knows nothing and leaves. Later, Kalinda meets Alicia at a bar and the two say their goodbyes in person. Later, Kalinda meets with Lester and tells him she copied files on him that she never turned over to the State’s Attorney but she will if he continues to pursue her. He agrees to back off and she leaves.
Simone, Louis Canning gets a job as a paralegal at Lockart, Agos, and Lee. When David Lee recognizes her, they decide they have to fire her. After Simone arrives home in tears, Louis Canning storms into the office and threatens to tear apart their firm.
Later, Canning shows up at Alicia’s home asking if she wants to be partners.
