Peter "Pete" Wilder is Oceanside's alternative medicine guru. But he's not a quack. He is, however, a widower who masks his grief with one-night stands, and a man who's taken an immediate liking to Addison.

A certified herbalist who spent five years in China learning alternative medicine, Pete Wilder combines medical acupuncture with nutritional, botanical modalities in the treatment of patients with a wide range of health conditions. He has also lectured locally and internationally on Oriental and Eastern medicine.

Dr. Wilder often provides patients with complete, holistic birth plans. Laboring moms love Pete. He is also responsible for the institution of a "no consorting" rule among the practitioners at the Oceanside Wellness Group. We'll see if that lasts.

Pete Wilder Quotes

PETE: "You okay?"
ADDISON: "Yeah. I, um, had a little too much surgery today. I’m good."
PETE: "You look good. You look beautiful. Sam told me I had to stay away from you because your Naomi’s friend."
ADDISON: "Stop it."
PETE: "What?"
ADDISON: "You're flirting."

"There you are. I just stopped by to see how Lisa and the baby are doing."

Private Practice Quotes

Naomi: Teri Hughes' mother came in today.
Violet: Why?
Naomi: We have Teri and Mark's embryos in our freezer and she wants them implanted ... in her. I don't know what to do.
Violet: I do. Say no.
Naomi: Well, I know there are issues with her carrying her own grandchild, and her age, but Sharon seems to-
Violet: I'm not interested in Sharon's reasons. Teri was my patient. I'm interested in what she'd think. And she would never ever want this.
Naomi: But how can you be so sure?
Violet: Teri hated her mother. Giving that woman another child, Teri's child, would have been her worst nightmare.

Charlotte: My mom always says God doesn't give with both hands. You're young, beautiful, brilliant. There has to be something you can't have.
Amelia: Some days I'd give that all up.
Charlotte: That's just the craving talking. The longer you go without a drink...
Amelia: I drank at your wedding. I thought it was ginger ale. I spit it out.
Charlotte: OK, since then?
Amelia: Nothing, but I can't stop thinking about it.
Charlotte: It was an accident. Don't let a slip turn into a fall. Get your butt to a meeting.
