Doom Patrol: Timothy Dalton To Star In DC Universe Drama

Timothy Dalton is the latest addition to DC Universe's forthcoming Titan follow-up, Doom Patrol. 

Per Deadline, the actor has been tapped to lead the cast of the superhero drama series. 

He will play the Doom Patrol’s leader, Dr. Niles “The Chief” Caulder

Dalton is a seasoned TV and movie veteran who has had roles on Penny Dreadful, Chuck, and Toy Story. 

"Doom Patrol is a reimagining of one of DC’s strangest group of outcasts: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman and Crazy Jane. Led by the mysterious Dr. Niles Caulder, they’re called into action by the ultimate hero for the digital age, Cyborg," reads the official description of the series.

"Banding together these rejects find themselves on a mission that will take them to the weirdest and most unexpected corners of the DC Universe."

Dalton joins a cast that already includes, Diane Guerrero (Orange is the New Black), Brendan Fraser (The Mummy), April Bowlby (Two and a Half Men) and Alan Tudyk (Firefly).

Doom Patrol has yet to get a premiere date on DC Universe. The streaming service itself has yet to launch and will be called to action on September 15 aka Batman Day.

Titans will begin airing weekly from October 12.
