Monica Raymund may be out of Chicago Fire, but the NBC hit has already filled the vacant seat in the ambulance.
Per Variety, Annie Ilonzeh has landed the recurring role of Emily Foster, and the character will be Brett's new partner, replacing Gabriela Dawson.
Emily is a new addition to the Chicago Fire Department and brings a lot of drama with her thanks to her past.
The news comes months after Raymund confirmed she was out of the drama series after six seasons as a series regular.
Chicago Fire Season 6 closed with a contingency plan in place in the event Raymund opted to leave at the end of her contract.
Gabby and Casey were struggling to conceive a child, and their relationship was on the rocks. Gabby learned that she had an aneurysm that could rupture if she carried a child.
With that, Gabby was set on the decision to have a child, but Casey was not impressed that she would decide without much input from her husband.
"You make these big emotional decisions as if my input doesn’t matter,” Casey said during an emotional installment.
Dawson countered, saying that while his feelings were taken into consideration, she could not depend on him.
“This is one decision you can’t leave me out of. Either we’re in it together, or we’re not in it at all,” he responded.
Things got crazier when Gabby was approached to join a team of paramedics to help out with the crisis in Puerto Rico.
We think it's fair to say that will be the reason for her absence when the show returns.
As for Emily, she has big shoes to fill when she steps into the vacant role in the ambulance.
Ilonzeh is probably most well-known for her roles on Switched at Birth, Person of Interest and Empire.
