It's been nine months since Grace Park and Daniel Dae Kim confirmed their departures from Hawaii Five-0, and while the show has had to adapt, it continues to one of CBS' more intriguing series.
Going into Hawaii Five-0 Season 8, there has been a whole lot of speculation about whether it would be the end of the line for the successful drama.
In part, this has been down to comments from Alex O'Loughlin, who spoke to TV Line in November 2016 about his future with the show.
At the time, Alex seemed adamant that he would be done with the show Season 8.
"Absolutely," he said at the time.
"I’m just trying to make it through the end of [Season] 7! [Five-0] is really, really wonderful, but it is an action show, I’m the main guy, and I defy anybody to do what I’ve done for as long I’ve done it and hold out the way I have."
However, the actor has now opened up to Entertainment Weekly, and it sounds like he may return for future seasons if they are ordered by CBS.
“I’m more open to continuing on than I was when we spoke a couple years ago,” the popular actor revealed.
“It’s a hard question to answer at the end of the season. I’m literally shooting episode 25 right now, and it happens to be episode 193 as well."
"All I want to do is collapse into my hiatus and go to bed for a couple weeks, but I am open to doing another couple of years. Hopefully we can make a deal.”
Hawaii Five-0 Season 8 is currently averaging 8.7 million viewers and a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49. It is CBS' highest-rated Friday drama.
It has a good chance of returning based on the above, but would you continue to watch if O'Loughlin decided to leave?
