The Gifted Trailer: Are These Mutants Worth Saving?

The Gifted is one of the most highly anticipated new series of the 2017-2018 season, and it sure looks like it's going to live up to the hype based on the trailer released in honor of San Diego Comic-Con. 

The TV landscape is littered with shows that follow a group of people with powers, but something about The Gifted sets it apart from the others. 

The cast includes Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Sean Teal and Blair Redford, who are definitely familiar with genre fare, as well as Natalie Alyn Lind, Jamie Chung, Percy Hynes White, Coby Bell and Emma Dumont.

The point of the trailer was to give us a better look at the huge roster of the characters, and it definitely accomplished that goal.

The previous trailer seemed a little too much like Heroes for me to really take notice of it.

While the similarities are still there, the increased focus on the mutants and their abilities have me wanting more, and now I can't wait until the series premieres. 

Fox is airing the show with Lucifer on Monday nights, so if Gotham managed to hold its own on the night, there's no reason why The Gifted will not. 

Also interesting about the trailer: Classic X-Men will be joining in for the fight against the villains. Thunderbird and Polaris were very present in the trailer. 

Will they help the series get off to a good start?
