Batwoman is entering The CW's DC TV universe later this year on the annual crossover between the Arrowverse series.

As such, the young-skewing network has released a sizzle reel that gives us our first glimpse at both Batwoman and Gotham City.

The trailer includes clips from Arrow, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl and Black Lightning, and even throws in some comic book-inspired effects for great measure.

Batwoman's entrance into the universe was confirmed during The CW's annual upfronts presentation by Arrow's leading man, Stephen Amell.

But that's not all; there's also a TV series featuring the character in the works at The CW. Yes, that means the network could potentially have six superhero-themed series on the air in 2019.

The official logline for the potential series reads:

Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence.

But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

It's certainly a big deal to add this character on Gotham into the universe, and it's great news that it will all occur this year in the crossover.

What are your thoughts on this news, Arrowverse Fanatics?

Arrow Quotes

Oliver: You survived the explosion. How?
Talia: You know I'm not so easily defeated.
Oliver: What are you doing here?
Talia: Oh, I ran afoul of an old foe in Gotham.

Every warrior must learn the simple truth -- that pain is inevitable and suffering is optional.
