It's about time, Scream Fanatics!
The long-delayed third season of Scream Season 3 has a premiere date!
But it won't be returning to MTV. Instead, it will air across three nights on VH1 under the title "Scream: Resurrection."
The six-part season will be stripped across three nights (July 8, 9, and 10 at 9/8c).
As previously reported, this is a reboot, meaning there will be no connection to the 2015-16 TV series.
That even extends to the Ghostface mask. If you watch Scream online, you know the first two seasons had a mask different from the one used in the movie series.
That will change with Scream Season 3, with the killer donning the same mask from the movies.
What's more, the killer will also be voiced by Roger Jackson.
The TV show mask was always slated because fans wanted the show to be more similar to the movies, and that's not a big thing to ask.
The new iteration of Scream is set to follow the character of Deion Elliot who is trying to make it in the music industry, but his success is put on the line when a masked killer terrorizes him and those closest to him.
As for the cast, it includes Mary J. Blige (The Umbrella Academy), RJ Cyler (Black Lightning), Keke Palmer (Scream Queens), Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), C.J. Wallace (Notorious), Tyga, and Giullian Yao Gioiello (Iron Fist).
VH1 has also released a short teaser which shows off the new killer, as well as one of the victims.
Paris Jackson's character looks to be the show's first big kill.
