Grey's Anatomy Return Promo: ATTACKED!

In a word? GULP.

In another word? HELP!!!!

Following a promo for TGIT in general, one that teased the return of Grey's Anatomy Season 12 by showing something serious happen to Meredith, ABC has now released a trailer that shows us exactly what dangerous fate is about to befall our favorite Seattle doctor:

She's about to get attacked by a patient.

In the following video, we see Meredith slammed over the bed and against the wall. We see the back of her head go through a plate of glass.

We then see Penny try to come to her rescue, while Alex and everyone else close to Meredith looks on, concerned.

We somehow doubt Meredith will die as a result of this attack, but that doesn't mean she'll end up A-OK after it happens.

“It is as terrifying and as shocking as you would expect for it to be,” Kelly McCreary, who plays Mer’s half-sister Maggie, recently said of the Denzel Washington-directed episode.

“Get ready to have your guts feel like they’re coming out of you, because it is truly harrowing."

It's been too long since Grey's Anatomy gave us some sort of epic crisis, hasn't it?

Check out the frightening promo below and prepare for Grey's Anatoym to return on Thursday, February 11 at 8/7c on ABC.

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

You think that true love is the only thing that can crush your heart; that will take your life and light it up or destroy it. Then you become a mother.

There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone. It wasn't 'cause I thought I'd be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It's easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love and you don't have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying. The only difference is death ends. This? It could go on forever.
