Doctor Who Trailer: Two Doctors, Big Trouble

at . Comments

Peter Capaldi has been an utter delight as the Twelfth Doctor on Doctor Who, but all good things must come to an end, and his reign will come to a grinding halt on the show's upcoming Christmas special, "Twice Upon a Time."

Pearl Mackie will be along for the ride as the Doctor's trusty companion, Bill. Also tagging along: Sherlock's co-creator, Mark Gatiss.

He will have a cameo in the episode as the first world war soldier known as the Captain.

The episode's hook is that there will be two Doctors, and David Bradley will play the other one.

We find all of this out when Capaldi's version of the character emerges into a snowy wasteland, and he's a bit shocked by everything.

"I don’t want to change again, never again, I can’t keep on being somebody else," Capaldi begins. "I’m staying. I will not change. I am the Doctor."

“No, no, no, I am the Doctor, the original,” replied Bradley's version of the character.

If you watch Doctor Who online, you will know that the regeneration process began at the close of Doctor Who Season 10.

So, it looks like we're to assume the above scene is immediately after. We should also get our first look at Jodie Whittaker as the series' first female Doctor.

The episode is a must see for fans of the series, and we cannot wait to watch how it all plays out.

Doctor Who Quotes

Only in darkness are we revealed. [...] Goodness is not goodness that seeks advantage. Good is good in the final hour, in the deepest pit, without hope, without witness, without reward. Virtue is only virtue in extremis. This is what *he* believes, and this is the reason above all I love him, my husband. My madman in a box. My Doctor.

Nardole [quoting River Song]

Great men are forged in fire. It is the privilege of lesser men to light the flame. Whatever the cost.
