While The Walking Dead does involve a wide array of characters, Rick is the main character. There's no way the show would kill him off. Plus, Negan's not going to choose the leader anyway. He wants Rick to get in line and follow his orders and then tell his followers to do the same. Rick is safe by a long shot. Chance of Negan killing Rick: 0%

The Walking Dead has killed off kids, so it's not out of the question. Remember Lizzie and Mika? Luckily for Carl, he's Rick's son, and that will probably help keep him safe from Negan's bat. Negan also mentioned for Carl's other eye to be ripped out if anyone interfered with his punishment. Why say that if he's your choice for the beating? Chance of Negan killing Carl: 10%

Michonne did just start a relationship with Rick, and we saw what happened to Rick's last love interest. So would the writers kill her off to really break Rick down? I feel like there's more story left for her character, and I can't imagine the writers want to get rid of their sword-wielding heroine. Her death would be a wicked curve ball though. Chance of Negan killing Michonne: 40%

The writers have already done the fake-out with Glenn's death and pissed off fans, so to then kill him only a few episodes later? That seems unlikely. And while the show has often deviated from its source material, Glenn is the one that gets smacked by Negan's bat in the comics, so, you never know... Chance of Negan killing Glenn: 40%

Negan talked about putting Maggie out of her misery, but would The Walking Dead really be willing to kill her off, especially considering she's pregnant? That would be a brutal killing I'm not sure the writers are quite looking to go for. Plus, she's been built up recently to take a more prominent role in Alexandria's growth. Oh, and did I mention she has a BABY on the way! Chance of Negan killing Maggie: 20%

Aaron's something of a wildcard because he's the only Alexandria member of the group. That could help or hinder him. If the writers are going for a bold choice, looking to kill a character that's been around for awhile, he's safe. If they just need a character who is likeable, but isn't technically one of the main crew, he could be the one to get killed off. I want to see more from him, but his time could be up. Chance of Negan killing Aaron: 50%

Is this fan favorite truly safe? It would be a crazy and ballsy move to kill off such a beloved character, but if the show is looking to make a statement, the archer could be higher up on the list than fans might want. He also had a bone to pick with Dwight, and Negan might just be more willing to kill him to let Dwight know he has his back. While I want to say the writers can't pull that trigger yet, it still feels like it could be a toss up. Chance of Negan killing Daryl: 60%

Unfortunately, Rosita hasn't gotten much screen time to really flesh out her character, so killing her off would seem like an easy way out for the writers. It wouldn't be as jaw-dropping as any of the others, but there's still a good chance here. Chance of Negan killing Rosita: 70%

All the focus on Abraham finding hope and new love with Sasha may make him a prime target. We've seen how getting that character focus often puts you on the fast-track to death. Plus, he stood up to Negan rather than cower when he was on his knees. It also seems pretty probable that he would be the most likely one to "take it like a champ" and get back up after that first hit. Chance of Negan killing Abraham: 80%

She has proven herself a strong-willed character over time, and her connection to Abraham and that focus on new beginnings could make her the writers' choice for Negan. It would affect Abraham going forward if she were the one, and I actually could see her definitely getting back up after that first hit. Chance of Negan killing Sasha: 70%

He's stepped up as a survivor since he first appeared on the show, and he even made the bold decision to try and be a decoy with the RV. His goodbye to Rick and Abraham certainly felt like a final one, too. Plus, he revealed to Rick what needs to be done involving the bullet manufacturing. It'd be disappointing to see Eugene go because he's a survivor who isn't the typical bad ass, but Negan just may not be a fan of mullets. Chance of Negan killing Eugene: 70%
