Whether or not Nina Dobrev comes back to Mystic Falls, it doesn't seem likely Elena Gilbert is in for a happy ending with Damon Salvatore.

Damon calls himself the devil, but he's more like evil incarnate if the photos from The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 1 are any indication.

There is nothing attractive about what happens to the very Elenaesque ladies in these photos. We've seen the fate of one in the trailer, and the fate of the other can be found in the photos if you look hard enough. It's brutal.
