1. Supergirl Will Struggle With Her Humanity

With Mon-El being forced to leave Earth in the Supergirl Season 2 finale, this will definitely have a huge effect on our beloved hero in Supergirl Season 3. The third season is all about dealing with what does it mean to be human, which will seemingly affect everyone on the show.

According to series lead Melissa Benoist, when the new season starts, Kara is leaning a lot on being the Girl of Steel. That is something the recent trailers have been teasing quite a lot.

“The first two seasons, she’s trying to… figure out her identity. When we pick up on Season 3, the scale is leaning very heavily on Supergirl.”

2. Cat Grant Will Be Back For A Couple Of Episodes

Even though we wish we could have her back full-time, Calista Flockhart will be back as Cat Grant this season. Flockhart’s character will first be seen in the season premiere titled “Girl of Steel” and her return has been teased to be “very clever”.

But it sounds like we may get a little more of Cat this season compared to Supergirl Season 2. Flockhart is reportedly going to recur throughout the season. The last we saw of her was in the season 2 finale where viewers discovered that Cat knew about Kara’s super-secret.

3. Erica Durance Returns To The CW For Another Super-Role

Despite the fact that Alura Zor-El died when Krypton blew up, Supergirl Season 3 will still feature Kara’s mother, but with a twist. Erica Durance, best known for playing Lois Lane on Smallville, will be taking over for Laura Benanti as Alura in the third season of the show.

It still remains to be seen how Supergirl Season 3 will use Durance besides flashbacks and holograms. Durance is now the Lois Lane-actor that Supergirl has brought on from previous Superman media after Teri Hatcher’s recent visit on the show.

4. Jane The Virgin’s Yael Grobglas Joins The DC Action

While not a straight on Supergirl/Jane the Virgin crossover, one of the talented stars of the telenovela is coming to National City. Yael Grobglas, who plays the twisted Petra, will be appearing in Supergirl Season 3 as the DC villain Psi.

Psi is described as a psychic villain who uses people’s own minds against them. But Psi will be put on Supergirl’s radar as her agenda is revealed. Per The CW, it’s been teased that Psi’s interaction with Kara will affect the Girl of Steel in surprising ways.

It remains to be seen how many episodes Grobglas will be seen in Supergirl Season 3. But if you are a Jane the Virgin fan, then be sure to tune in for Supergirl Season 3 to see her as Psi.

Chad Lowe is getting into business with Greg Berlanti once again after having worked with the mega-producer on ABC’s Brothers & Sisters. But Lowe’s visit come with double duty as he will both star in episode 4 and direct a future episode.

He is committed to preaching his faith and changing the lives of his followers. Lowe will then direct the seventh episode of Supergirl Season 3 titled “Wake Up”. That episode will most likely air on Monday, November 20.

6. A Big Kara/Alex Flashback Episode

A Big Kara/Alex Flashback Episode
Episode 6 of Supergirl Season 3 will be a big one for any Kara and Alex fans out there. Titled “Midvale”, the sixth episode will be a flashback-heavy one for the Danvers sisters.

However, expect young Kara and Alex to look a little different this time. Izabela Vidovic and Olivia Nikkanen will be taking over for Malina Weissman and Jordan Mazarati as Kara and Alex respectively.

According to Benoist in a recent interview, we’ll learn more about the relationship between the beloved sisters in “Midvale”.

“You’ll get to see, through the way they interact, how their relationship started when Kara first came to Earth, how it grew, how it became so close and why they’re so close nowadays.”

Expect the episode to air sometime in November!
