On The Mindy Project Season 5 Episode 6, it's Danny's wedding weekend and everyone is worried about how she is going to handle the festivities. Mindy opts not to go and plans to spend a quiet night at home, but after being haunted by a picture of Danny and hearing his voice, she heads to Massachusetts to see her mom.

Her brother, Rishi, is also in town after being too stressed at DJ school, and the siblings spy on their mom after she is not where she said she would be. They show up at the restaurant and discover she is just meeting with a man named Conrad to get a part in a play. After embarrassing Mama Lahiri, Mindy tries to make it right, but it turns out he was just trying to sleep with her mother.

Mindy heads back to New York to stop Danny's wedding after Morgan tells her he thinks Danny has cold feet, but turns around when Ben calls her and says "I love you." She initially does not say it back, but after talking to her mom and realizing she is not still in love with Danny, she texts Ben "I love you too."
