The Good Wife Season 2 Episode 3
Breaking Fast
Recap
We were introduced to Alicia's brother this week, as he was played by Dallas Roberts and caused a bit of a flap as a visiting professor in Chicago. He said that Peter doesn't like him because he's gay, a comment that went viral and caused Eli to set up a humorous dinner:
In order to satisfy Peter's gay supporters, who were also Jewish and afraid Peter didn't back Israel, there was a breakfast set up on Yom Kippur. During it, Peter took time to tell off Alicia's brother for not being there during his sister's time of need. It was an interesting scene, considering the source, but also the proper message. The episode concluded with Alicia and her brother bonding and him apologizing.
Elsewhere...
- Kalinda continued her feud with Blake by trailing him to what appeared to be a corner with prostitutes. She made a few cracks about the meeting to his face, but it's safe to assume Blake was up to something else around these women.
- The case of the week featured a lawsuit brought on by the son of a man accused by Childs and the prosecutor's office of being a sniper. This man died from a heart attack due to the allegations, his son claimed, and he now wanted the prosecutors to pay. The case got complicated when another sniper attack took place, and it also got political due to Alicia's involvement and Childs' belief that the firm was trying to make him look bad.
In the end, whatever its motives, it succeeded by proving that the son's father was NOT the original sniper. They got the state to pay $4 million in damages.
