Darlene shows up to work to find her desk moved so that she and Ben don’t have to look at one another.  When he tells her that her article needs serious editing, things become so tense between the two of them that Darlene considers quitting. 

Darlene tells Dan she cheated on Ben with David and looks for advice. He tells her that she needs to earn Ben’s trust back and that actions will speak louder than words. 

Darlene brings her divorce paper’s to the office to sign in front of Ben. Ben is shocked. He had no idea she and David were still married. Then he learns that David broke up with Darlene, making Ben feel like her second choice. 

The family dresses for Halloween and baby Bev is dressed as a Chicago hot dog. 

When the Chinese restaurant in the old Lunch Box building closes, Jackie wants to lease the pace and reopen The Lunch Box. Becky wants to be her partner. Jackie and Becky then learn that Beverly still owns the building of the former Lunch Box and has been collecting rent all of these years while crying poverty. 

Beverly says she told Jackie she had no money and moved in with her because she wanted to be able to leave money to her grandchildren when she died. Turns out Beverly gave Darlene power of attorney to make all of her business decisions and made her promise not to tell anyone.

Jackie kicks Bev out, so she moves in with the Conners. Jackie tells Darlene she needs to lease the building to her and Becky to reopen The Lunch Box or she’s dead to her. Darlene says she needs to think about it.
