After reuniting with Castiel, Dean, Sam, Jack and Cas all head to Kansas to investigate a string of grave robberies and a murder as Team Free Will 2.0.
Since neither of them sleep very much or at all, Castiel and Jack get an opportunity to catch up and learn a bit more about each other.
A quick investigation leads to the conclusion that the boys are on the hunt for a ghoul with a penchant for posing as an old western cowboy.
After showing off his cowboy trivia knowledge, Dean gets to live out a childhood fantasy tracking down a ghoul disguised as Dave Mathers, but when a bank robbery turned shootout goes deadly wrong, Sam and Castiel take Jack home and Dean stays behind to finish the hunt with the help of local lawman Sargent Phillips.
Complete with creepy cemetery tunnels, lost hats, a completely necessary break-up scene, and a new kind of fast-draw duel, the case comes to a mostly satisfying conclusion.
The tension-filled return to the bunker comes to an explosive conclusion, and no amount of placating discussion seems to help Jack with his new feelings of guilt and trauma, so he decided to deal with them all on his own.
