Derek recruits Karen to work on a song and a performance for him and Eileen. She can't tell Tom or Julia what they are doing. Ellis finds out and tells Ivy. It turns out that Derek and Eileen want Tom and Julia to consider a different tone for the musical. Karen performs "Touch Me" for Tom and Julia. They are not happy about this. Tom and Derek finally have it out over their ended friendship. Eileen decides to keep both Tom and Julia has composers, but she wants a star for the role of Marilyn. Tom tells Ivy she is out as Marilyn.
