When you watch NCIS: New Orleans Season 2 Episode 19, Laurel is having a normal day, jogging in Baton Rouge, when she is violently attacked. Fighting back, she apparently kills her attacker. Pride is understandably concerned that the attack was perpetrated by one of his many enemies, and he wants more than anything to protect his daughter. He soon hijacks the investigation from the local police after locating a van that his daughter describes as having followed her. Inside the van is a whole lot of very valuable customized surveillance equipment -- all clearly aimed at monitoring Agent Pride himself. Pride takes it upon himself to protect his daughter by any means necessary, and his fellow team members question his judgment in these very personal circumstances. Pride, meanwhile, can't help but have a nagging feeling that he's missing something and the attack on Laurel and everything directed at him might not be some sort of smoke screen for some other plot, some plan in the works that whoever it is plans to execute very soon and need him distracted and out of the way.
