During a drug bust, Spence Taylor is engaged in a shootout with police and runs with a bag of money, but is shot. He calls Sam, who he knew by his undercover alias of Switch. Callen and Anna are enjoying a romantic night in, but are interrupted by a knock at the door. It's Hetty. She's sending he and Anna to Arizona to pick up prisoner Ahmed Han Asakeem. Deeks is backing up Sam, who picks up Spence, while Kensi is paired with Nell, all tracking down the drug lord King. Sam goes back undercover as Switch, as Spence introduces him to his boss, Devlin Rush. Sam turns on Spence, calling him a snitch and tossing him in the ocean. Deeks in scuba gear rescues him. It turns out King is actually a woman. Eric warns Callen that something is up concerning Asakeem. King admits to having a partner, Zeus, her distributor who she wants gone. She wants Sam as her backup. Callen and Anna are taking Asakeem by car along back roads. Sam and King rip off protection money from Max Champion. Callen and Anna get ambushed at a cafe, but take down, with the cafe patrons' help, an international team of five gunmen who are trying to abduct Asakeem. Eric and Nell figure out that Zeus is WIlson, LA District Attorney Frank Gibson's assistant. The team takes down King's crew, but King gets shot. Sam doesn't believe Wilson is Zeus. Sam arrests Gibson, who is Zeus. Callen and Anna safely deliver Asakeem. Examining the remains of the gunmen's cabin, Eric and Nell determine there is a network trying to find Asakeem.
