Elizabeth is determined to rescue a group of schoolgirls from the terrorist organization Boko Haram in Cameroon. The United States sends an agent, Chris, to the country to try to negotiate the girls return, but the leader refuses. When Chris returns to the US he starts exhibiting signs of the Marburg virus which is extremely deadly and it forces the State Department to be evacuated. In the situation room the staff discusses the outbreak of the Marburg virus and how it's spreading rapidly in Cameroon. President Dalton decides to send aid workers to help with the epidemic, but a member of the Boko Haram infiltrates the camp and sets off a bomb. The next day the Boko Haram takes credit for the bomb and Elizabeth realizes the leader of the group has the deadly virus. Thankfully, after Chris takes a turn for the worse, doctors are able to put together a drug which cures the Marburg virus. Elizabeth uses this drug as leverage to get the girls back and sends Chris back to Cameroon to offer half of the drug to the leader of the organization in exchange for the girls being freed.
