Life on Mars is the remake of a popular BBC series by the same name.
In it, Sam Tyler (Jason O'Mara) is a detective from the 21st century. He is hit by a car and mysteriously who travels back in time to the 1973, just four years after his birth.
Tyler clashes with new boss Gene Hunt, who doesn't take the story about time travel very seriously.
The detective ends up working on a case involving a serial killer that may have something to do with his girlfriend's kidnapping in the present time.
