Law & Order: SVU Season 18 Episode 12 involves an Army Ranger who is brutally raped after a homecoming party. Beth Williams is seen being chosen for a press tour, then at her party. Afterwards she is found naked and hurt.

Beth is very reluctant to come forward, and it doesn't help that her commanding officer is in a hurry to ensure there is no bad press related to the rape. Beth continually stonewalls Benson and insists that she is responsible for allowing the rape to happen because she is a Ranger and is supposed to be strong and courageous.

The investigation leads to a man named Gary Cook who is writing nasty things online about how Beth deserves to be killed. Cook has some misogynstic views, but he claims he did nothing more than shake hands with Beth. Beth IDs him from a photo, but he is quickly proven to have an alibi.

Beth goes to her mom's and then quickly ships out to the base. Her commanding officer thinks this is best for her. The detectives are unhappy as they return to their investigation. They find a surprising name a block away from where Beth was attacked.

Benson: You said she was sexually assaulted?
Fin: Looks that way. Her pants were off, her underwear was pulled down. Blunt force trauma to the back of the head.
Benson: Anything else?
Fin: We found a military ID. She's a ranger. Best of the best.

Father: So uh, have you two lovebirds set a date or what?
Man: Next year, May 20th, right babe?
Woman: Yeah.
