The Necropolis elevator carrying Delle Seyah, D'avin and John has crash-landed on a planet somewhere outside the Quad. Three armed natives try to rob them. Delle Sayeh grabs a gun and sends the robbers fleeing, but John is re-injured. They find an outpost, but no doctor, although there are medical supplies. Zephyr and Pip escape the RAC station full of de-activated Hullen. They flee to the Hullen command ship, which is where the human resistance has set up shop. Delle Seyah and D'avin use the little bit of Hullen plasma she has to save John. Zeph finds out Dutch, John, and D'avin are missing. There are more of the comatose Hullen on that command ship. John is happy with his new status. The station residents say they are a farming collective, and ask for the visitors' help, in exchange for a ship. John is acting aggressively. Zeph proposes using the Hullen jumpship to get inside Necropolis. John takes out the three overseers holding guns. He has figured out that the residents are prisoners. The prisoners are being used to grow replacement organs. Alarms go off, which will bring a ship full of guards. Garrett takes Pree to meet Feruza, a Scarback turned dominatrix. Pree talks her into helping to avenge Alvis. A psychic vision of Dutch encourages John to fight his Hullen side. Zeph, Feruza, and Pip are going in Zeph's redesigned jump cube. The Lady's robot spiders are tracking them inside Necropolis. Pip finds surveillance that reveals what happened to John and D'avin. John pumps laughing gas into the outpost. John loads the unconscious D'avin into a truck and goes off in search of plasma. Lucy put a tracker on the elevator. The tracker John gave Delle Sayeh brings the guards to her.
