Marshall's preparation for the baby causes he and Lily to fight. In an attempt to get some space from him she enlists the help of Barney who drives he and a passed out Marshall to Atlantic City. Barney convinces Marshall to shut off their phones and get drunk, meanwhile Lily goes into labor. Barney was free to take the road trip because after he asked Quinn to quit her job she needed some time to think. Ted has trouble dating because everyone reminds him of Robin. He debates whether or not to keep her in his life but before he can tell her how he feels she tells him about the trouble brewing with their friends.
