Recap

It was Viennese Waltz or Paso Doble night on Dancing with the Stars. Let's get right to the scores and the routines of each tandem...

Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough, Viennese Waltz: Len believed Chuck's footwork still needs improvement, but it was solid. Bruno said he's stepping out of his girlfriend's shadow. Carrie Ann disagreed. She's still looking for more. There's a questionable lift, he loses his focus, and he doesn't have all the confidence that he should have. Score: 23 (7, 8, 8)

Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska, Paso Doble: Bruno thought that he was the prince of darkness. It started off rough, but he got his feet moving in the middle. Carrie Ann thinks that he has a limited range of motion, but he uses the motion well. She appreciates that he worked the music better. Len appreciated the intensity and was afraid, but the dance quality still lacks. Score: 20 (6, 7, 7)

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas, Viennese Waltz: Carrie Ann loved the simplicity because it showed technique. The last lift she decides to shun because it was artistic. Len loved the lyrical nature, but the footwork lacked a forward step on the heel. Bruno thought she was sweet and light. He liked the flow, musicality, and simplicity. Bruno mentions the shoulders slowly rising in the dance. Score: 26 (9, 8, 9)

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani, Paso Doble: Len thought the routine was done well. Bruno compared Melissa to Carmen. Although most of it was beautiful, she made mistakes and it stunned her confidence. Carrie Ann loves the choreography, but she was off balance. There was a questionable lift, as well. Score: 25 (8, 8, 9)

David Alan Grier and Kym Johnson, Viennese Waltz: Bruno thought there were good moments. He thought the leg lifts were unnecessary; the steps weren't classic. Carrie Ann thinks that there's disconnect because the two don't harmonize. Len loved the story. It was good even though it had a weak middle. Score: 22 (7, 8, 7)

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke, Paso Doble: Carrie Ann thought it was breathtaking. She loves the essence of the dance. Len thought it was a little hectic, he appreciates the passion. Bruno thought he nailed it. Score: 29 (10, 9, 10)

Steve-O and Lacey Schwimmer, Viennese Waltz: Len thought it was his best dance. Bruno loved the timing, but the technique needs help. Carrie Ann liked the emotional quality, but he needs to work on his posture. Score: 18 (6, 6, 6)

Ty & Chelsie – Paso Doble – Ty should be able to connect the idea of the bull fight with his experience with bulls. He decides to introduce Chelsie to a real bull. I'm happy to see Ty show some passion in his face, but his steps were robotic. Chelsie also stepped on her dress again, but this time nothing happened.

Bruno thought it was robotic and metallic. The steps were too stiff. Carrie Ann lost her dancer from last week. He's thinking too much. Len thought this dance wasn't as good as the weeks prior, but he is still showing improvement. Score: 21 (7, 7, 7)

Lil Kym & Derek – Viennese Waltz – Lil Kym has a career outside of this show! She's short on time so Derek is trying to change moves quickly. It causes stress and tears. The dance is pretty. She continues that porn face whenever she wants to make emphasis, though.

Carrie Ann felt like she was the mom who watched her daughter. She likes the perfect match between the two. Len loved the musicality and lyrical style. He thought there was a little bit of footing trouble and a lack of traditional steps. Bruno loved how sassy and sexy she made the Viennese Waltz. He appreciates the harmony between the two. Score: 26 (9, 8, 9)
